Under the environmental rehabilitation projects of the river valleys of Wadi Hanifa to restore them as rain and flood drainage and to rehabilitate them as one of the open parks for residents and visitors of Riyadh city, the valley of Mahdia was inaugurated in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, governor of the Riyadh region, on Monday 15 May 2017.
The rehabilitation project in Wadi El-Mahdia included the following:
● Cleaning and removal of waste in the project (48,000 m3)
● Implementation of roads with a length of 5 km
● Car parking for 135 cars
● Pedestrian corridors
● Cultivation of trees and shrubs of the desert with 4000 trees and shrubs
● Road lighting work
